Chew, Blagdon and the Barrows have seen some superb sport in the opening weeks of this season for both the pleasure and competition anglers.
Clear water, cracking stock and some largely favourable weather have all contributed to some memorable sport, topped by a recent 10lb plus rainbow from Blagdon.

BRFFA recently held a very positive meeting with Bristol Water Fisheries to discuss a number of members concerns.
The good news is that BW remain fully committed to maintaining the lakes as top trout fisheries.
As a summary, BW have issued a written report. This takes the place of the normal address that they give to BRFFA members.
The report covers a review of 2011 and addresses some of the issues that have impacted on the fishing. It provides an update on some of the actions and changes that are taking place and looks at the prospects for the 2012 season.

We are very grateful to Bristol Water for one again supporting BRFFA membership with their £10 vouchers.
This effectively provides free membership for everyone.

All the local lakes have filled up with the recent rains. The weather has eased some of the fishing pressure. A spell of warmer and settled weather should see some stellar fishing. Stock levels are good. Early stock fish are now packing on weight and muscle. And nymphs and dries will start to be more successful.
